Following an initial Town Council exercise to understand costings, contractors will now be invited to tender to undertake the full refurbishment of Victoria Pleasure Ground Play Area.
Before we gave contractors time to draw up their designs, we wanted to hear from Uckfield residents to understand what users of the play area thought, was most important. Thank you to all of those who participated and provided feedback before the deadline on Wednesday 19 March 2025. We received over 200 responses to our short survey, which is just fantastic, thank you.
A public consultation day will be arranged in May once designs are submitted by the play area companies.
Keep watch, for further info!

Thank you to everyone who took part, we really appreciate your time and input!
The feedback received will not only inform our priority setting for 2025, but also inform our conversations with key stakeholders such as the District Council, County Council, partner agencies and developers. It will assist us with our longer term planning and help us understand what you consider important for the town in the future.

In February 2024, Wealden District Council announced the publication of its Draft Local Plan.
This superseded the Draft Local Plan that was drawn up in 2019 and subsequently withdrawn in 2020. The new plan intends to offer a plan for how the district will develop between 2025 and 2040.

Uckfield Town Council prepared a detailed response to the questions asked within the plan. A copy of the responses are detailed below:
