Between Monday 5th August and Friday 13th December 2024, a large roadworks project will take place at the A22 Copwood Roundabout in Uckfield.
The East Sussex Highways project includes developer-led highway works to improve the traffic capacity at the roundabout, which were secured as part of the planning obligations attached to the development of Ridgewood Farm.
Walker Construction will be completing the works on the site throughout the 19-week project.
Due to the highly traffic-sensitive nature of the location, any works that will impact traffic flow will take place overnight under temporary three-way traffic lights (19:00 to 06:00). Some works that are confined to the highway verges and which will not interfere with traffic flow will take place during the normal working day.
A temporary speed limit (30mph) will also be in operation on the approaches to the roundabout to provide safe sideways clearance to the working area and to help protect the workforce.
The first week, commencing Monday 5th August, Walker Construction will be working offline on day shifts setting up the compound and taking deliveries. Thereafter, night shifts will commence and works will be under three-way traffic control.
