THIS WEEK - Uckfield High Street - snagging
(Thurs 15th - Fri 23rd March 2018)

Works will commence in Uckfield High Street this week (Thursday 15th March) until Friday 23rd March to address outstanding works on the footway and highway following the improvements in 2016. Works include replacing the damaged bike rack, and replacing and repairing damaged footway kerbs and bollards. Although the majority of the works will be on the footway, safety barriers may also spill onto the road to ensure the safety of the contractors and hence cause some minor delays. Works will take place during daylight hours and at minimum disruption to pedestrians and vehicles.

We have been advised that a temporary three way traffic management system will be put in place on the Bell Lane junction on Thursday 22nd March 2018 whilst contractors work on replacing broken kerbstone at the edge of this junction. They aim to start works at 6am prior to rush hour traffic and will be manually controlled.

Hughes Way Play Area
Please be advised Hughes Way Play Area is NOT yet open. Gates to the play area are padlocked and barricades placed across the entrances.
We are awaiting the outcome of a play inspection. Until the results of this have been received and snagging addressed, the site should not be accessed.
Due to the ground works, the site is also very boggy at present whilst we await further turfing.
Many thanks for your patience.

Cold Calling Warning - Rogue Traders

We have been advised of recent doorstep scams, with one currently involving the delivery of leaflets through doors advertising that they buy broken watches. Residents are then approached at the doorstep. The public are advised to never deal with cold calling doorstep traders, as this poses a risk to themselves and their property.  Report all incidents of cold calling to Trading Standards: 03454 040506 or to Sussex Police 101/ in an emergency dial 999.
