Part-time Caretaker/Maintenance role

Salary: (£18,065) (pro rata)
18 hours per week (flexible shift pattern)

Uckfield Town Council is an ambitious organisation with a wide ranging portfolio of buildings and open spaces. A number of our buildings are hired out to individuals, community groups, sports clubs and businesses for regular bookings and events.

Opportunities have arisen at the Town Council, for a part time caretaker role to support our service provision and assist with looking after our buildings.  Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will take great pride in ensuring our buildings are kept in good state of repair, are clean, well presented and rooms are ready for hirers.

Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent customer service, be self motivated but also a good team player to work as part of a team when deadlines need to be met. You will pay close attention to detail to ensure that our buildings are well maintained and secure, and have a can do attitude towards cleanliness, general maintenance and preparing our facilities.

You will be required to work flexibly, working to a rota booked in advance, with at least one weekend shift per month. A full clean UK driving licence is required and access to a vehicle (mileage allowance will be paid).

Part-time Permanent Washer Up/Kitchen Assistant

Salary: £12,987 - £16,877 pro rata
Minimum 10 hours per week
2 hours daily Monday - Friday   Usually 12.00pm - 2.00pm

To start in September 2019

An opportunity has arisen at the Town Council, for a part-time Washer Up/ Kitchen Assistant.  The post is a ‘hands on’ position and the successful candidate will be an active team member.

The duties include assisting the Hospitality Manager and colleagues in all relevant aspects of duties, being responsible for washing up the crockery, kitchen equipment and utensils and assisting in the kitchen and putting the clean items back in the appropriate place. Also ensuring the workplace is always maintained in a clean, hygienic and tidy manner in line with current health and safety regulations. You will be required to load, unload and operate the dishwasher and to collect dirty dishes and crockery from restaurant and kitchen areas
